Unfolding ancient Taprobana
Tracing historic royal roads and untamed wilderness

For the intrepid soul seeking the untamed and the unspoken.
For those who have already done the classics, or who feel the beaten path is too beaten. This route ventures where most tour operators don't: into the vast silence of Wilpattu, Sri Lanka's largest and least-visited wildlife reserve; north to Jaffna's distinct Tamil culture; east to the blinding white sands and world-class snorkelling of Trincomalee; and deep inland to Gal Oya — one of the island's best-kept wildlife secrets, where elephants swim between forest islands on an inland sea.
Days 1–2
Escape the crowds and immerse yourself in Sri Lanka's largest wilderness. Around its mystical natural lakes, the leopard walks in absolute solitude and nature speaks in its purest dialect.
Days 3–5
Journey to Jaffna — a land washed in vibrant colours and distinct flavours. Marvel at the golden towers of Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, sail the forgotten waters to Delft Island, and feast on curries born of age-old northern traditions.
Days 6–8
Find paradise on the blinding white sands of Trincomalee's Nilaveli Beach. Snorkel the crystalline waters of Pigeon Island, and stand atop the sacred cliffs of Koneswaram Temple, overlooking a sapphire ocean.
Days 9–10
Venture into the island's most secluded sanctuary. Glide across the glassy waters on a boat safari, witnessing the spectacular sight of Asian elephants swimming effortlessly between emerald islets.
Days 11–12
Weave your way back through the hidden mountain passes of Ella, collecting final glimpses of mist-shrouded peaks before making your way to the airport.
